Anniversary of repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell

On September 20th, 2011, the repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," allowed LGBTQi+ military community to no longer serve in silence.

In All the Broken Angels, Chris and Ernesto both love their country. They became adults during the Vietnam War era. Their draft lottery numbers were high, so neither was drafted. But since the military considered "homosexuality" a psychological disorder that made individuals "unfit" to serve, each man had to decide what to do. Each made a different choice. You can read about their journeys in the novel.

As a psychologist, I worked with Vietnam veterans. I was also an LGBTQI+ coordinator for the Veterans Administration. I'd like to honor all our brave men and women who served in silence.
