Spending World Read Aloud Day with a Fifth-grade Class

February 1, 2023

Today, I'm spending World Read Aloud Day with a Fifth-grade class at Assumption Catholic School in Bellingham, Washington I'm reading The Crystal Beads, Lalka's Journey, to the fifth graders, who study the Holocaust as part of their curriculum. I was impressed with the children's questions about my book after the reading.

Oh, and if you're wondering how the children were dressed, it was "Pajama Day" at the school. What fun! Also, take note of the background above the whiteboard--The alphabet is shown in sign language. As someone who has worked in the Deafness field, I was pleased to see that. Thanks to Teacher Zoe Copeland and the fifth-great class for our time together.
