Podcast with Stephanie Essary on Resilience and Reinvention

I had a wonderful time with podcaster Stephanie Essary and wanted to share this experience with you.

Everyone's life has ups and downs, and we can often get sidetracked from living our dreams. Other things get in the way, and we may need to pause, reexamine, or even change our plans.

This has certainly happened to me several times. Life's twists and turns have led me to reevaluate my dreams and goals and make a few changes. But you know what? These changes led me in a direction I think I was meant to pursue in the first place. But I had to be open-minded and flexible enough to explore new options.

I speak about this in this podcast—how the many roads I've traveled led me from the theater world to psychology and becoming an author. I would have never imagined my life this way!

In my second book, All the Broken Angels, I realized that I've used resilience as a theme for many of the characters in the novel. Almost all of them face a variety of life's challenges. Each one deals with them differently. Many face bumps in the road along the way. But isn't that the way life is? The key is to learn from life, move forward and continue to grow. Not always an easy task. But we can accomplish so much on life's journey if we allow ourselves to learn these lessons. I sound like a psychologist! I guess I've allowed that part of me to play a role in my writing. A bigger role than I imagined but it worked out to create a novel I'm truly proud of.

Podcaster Stephanie Essary summarized the podcast, and I love what she wrote. She truly captured my journey. I've placed it below. To listen to the entire podcast, click on the link.
